1. AI editions are not for commercial use
If an edition contains text, translations, rewrites, artwork or other elements generated with AI through Adventure Recast, its authorised use in the service is personal and for your gaming group. You may not sell or commercially exploit that edition, even if you purchased credits or manually changed part of the output.
This rule does not transfer your rights to Adventure Recast or state that the law always prohibits commercial AI use. It does not revoke permissions granted directly under open licences or your rights in earlier works. To prepare a commercial edition in the studio, work entirely by hand using resources licensed for commercial use. An open game-system licence does not remove the contractual restriction on an AI edition created here.
2. Manual work retains its rights
You retain the rights the law grants in your human contributions. You may commercialise entirely manual work if you also comply with every source, rule and asset licence. The editor does not extend those licences or turn someone else’s material into your property. Technical saving, organisation or typesetting alone is not considered AI generation.
3. BRP: check the edition and ORC licence
Basic Roleplaying: Universal Game Engine offers material under Chaosium’s ORC licence. It permits personal and commercial uses of covered material, subject to notices, attribution and obligations concerning adapted mechanical material. Retain the ORC notice and identify licensed and reserved material where required.
It does not grant blanket rights in Chaosium’s reserved artwork, design, trademarks, characters or settings. BRP is not a general licence to publish Call of Cthulhu, RuneQuest or other product-line content. BRP documentation released under different licences requires checking those specific terms; not everything labelled “BRP” is under ORC.
4. D&D SRD: only the open material
Wizards of the Coast’s SRD 5.1 and SRD 5.2.1 are available under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. Covered material may be used and adapted, including commercially, with the required attribution, licence link and indication of changes. Check the attribution wording in the version you use.
The SRD does not cover all of Dungeons & Dragons or grant a general licence to its brands, settings, artwork or excluded content. Do not impose additional restrictions that prevent others exercising CC BY permissions over licensed material. A work may combine open rules and original contributions with different rights.
5. Permissions for every source and asset
Check that you may reproduce, adapt, translate, process and, where relevant, commercially distribute each item you provide. A non-commercial licence restricts commercial uses; a no-derivatives condition may prevent translations or adaptations. Attribution, share-alike and ORC obligations continue after using the editor. An original being public domain does not necessarily make a later translation, edition or illustration free to use.
People’s names, likenesses and voices may have additional protections. Similar appearance, changing game systems or an AI rewrite does not remove others’ rights. We do not promise an exhaustive automated licence check.
6. Independence and third-party trademarks
Adventure Recast and ZEROX IT CONSULTING, S.L. are not affiliated with Chaosium Inc. or Wizards of the Coast LLC and do not claim their sponsorship, endorsement or trademark licence. References to BRP, D&D or SRD identify specific systems or materials; they do not authorise use of official logos, claims of official product status or exploitation of reserved content.
The tool does not replace an agreement with a publisher. If your publication needs additional permission, obtain it directly from the rights holder. Rule conversion or translation does not bypass these obligations. Original licences govern the permissions and obligations they grant over their own material.
7. Attribution, demos and rights complaints
Keep credits, notices and licences in publications when required; credit does not replace permission. Website demos are provided as downloadable examples to consult, without a resale licence. The original adventure No sin mi tráiler is by Ángel Contreras, written in the 2000s; Not Without My Rig demonstrates medium re-editing and English translation with Adventure Recast.
